We watched the first segment of "Food, Inc." and students took notes and answered Qs about the segment and its use of ethos, pathos, and logos. We'll continue tomorrow.

We watched the second segment of "Food, Inc.,"Unintended Consequences," and students wrote responses to this section. Discussion tomorrow.

We watched and analyzed the last section of this documentary today.

Wrap up Food Inc./rhetorical analysis

We discussed section 4 of Food Inc., and then I distributed an essay on climate change with specific instructions for annotating and completing c-notes. Due tomorrow.

Rhetorical strategies in writing

Students got into groups and identified various rhetorical strategies used in the essay on climate change. I distributed three handouts for writing a rhetorical speech and students were assigned to choose a controversial issue (or one with two distinct viewpoints) and to begin researching.
