Wrap up "Girl"

Students were grouped together to present their responses to the reading Qs for "Girl." We will do a final activity tomorrow before moving on to our next unit. 

Tuesday 10/3/2017
Intro to Apartheid

Students were put into groups and assigned to read and annotate designated sections from a primer on the history of apartheid. They will be working in their groups to prepare a presentation to teach their classmates about their particular section. Homework tonight: read/annotate assigned sections. 

Wednesday 10/4/2017
Counselors in classroom

Counselors worked with the students today on self-advocacy and positive communication and problem-solving skills. Back to our curriculum tomorrow.

History of Apartheid

Students had the period to work on their assigned presentations from the history of apartheid document. These will be due, ready to present, Monday after break

After the last two groups presented on apartheid, we had a discussion about the relationship to the Steven Biko story and America. No homework.
